A 30-year-old motorcyclist died Wednesday evening after a crash in a West Toledo intersection, authorities said.

The crash was reported about 5:45 p.m. at Eleanor Avenue and Pennfield Road.

Shawn Sutter of Luann Avenue was taken to Toledo Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:27 p.m., said Dr. James Patrick, Lucas County coroner.

Two motorcycles - driven by Mr. Sutter and Christopher A. Fragua, Jr., 33, of Eldora Drive - were eastbound on Eleanor when a pickup turning left onto westbound Eleanor from Pennfield was struck by Mr. Sutter's motorcycle, according to Toledo Police.

Mr. Sutter's motorcycle then struck Mr. Fragua's motorcycle, causing it to strike a utility pole. Mr. Fragua was injured but was not taken to a hospital, according to police.

The pickup driver, Kathleen E. Casertano, 54, of Hagley Road, was not injured, according to police.
