Robber makes off with $190 from W. Toledo convenience store, patrons

9/7/2013

Toledo police are searching for a masked gunman who they say forced patrons of a West Toledo convenience store to the ground before robbing them and the store.

A store clerk told police that a man came into the Stop-N-Go store at 3519 W. Alexis Rd. at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday wearing a hood and dark-colored mask covering the bottom portion of his face. The man pulled a handgun from his waistband, pointed it at the clerk, and demanded two others in the store to get on the ground.

Once on the floor, the robber demanded cash from the victims, taking $21 from a woman and $19 from a man. He then demanded cash from the register and fled with an additional $150.

The suspect is described by police as white, about 25 years old, 6 feet tall, and 170 pounds. He was seen running eastbound on Alexis wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, light blue jeans or sweatpants, and white tennis shoes.

Police ask that anyone with information call the Crime Stoppers program at 419-255-1111.
