Toledoan arrested on rape charge

A Fernwood Avenue man wanted for allegedly raping an 8-year-old was arrested Tuesday in West Toledo.

Toledo police arrested Reggie Johnson, 28, of 1803 Fernwood Ave., at a family member’s Isabella Street home. He had been indicted on a single count of rape Sept. 11 by a Lucas County grand jury.

Police allege that, on June 3, Johnson returned home from a bar, saw the victim sleeping on a couch, and raped the child.

Johnson was held Tuesday in the Lucas County jail pending arraignment today in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.
