3-way crash leaves teen trapped in ditch

A three-vehicle collision in southwest Toledo left one vehicle in a ditch with a 17-year-old Toledo girl trapped inside until firefighters extricated her late Friday night.

Nobody was seriously injured in the crash about 10:56 p.m. in the 300 block of South Reynolds Road, according to Toledo Police Department reports.

Angel Murray of Toledo was driving southbound and, in attempting to turn left into a parking lot, pulled into the path of an opposing vehicle driven by a 17-year-old girl police refused to identify. Ms. Murray, whose age was not released, was unhurt, but the impact sent the 17-year-old's vehicle into oncoming traffic and it was struck by a third vehicle. That impact sent it off the road and down an embankment into the ditch.

The person extricated from that vehicle was a passenger who, along with the driver, was taken to Toledo Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, police said. Two other passengers were taken to University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, also with non-critical injuries.

Police said the third vehicle’s driver fled the scene on foot, while two passengers were taken to UTMC.

Charges are likely to be filed against Ms. Murray, police said.
