Early morning police chase ends in crash

Suspect attempted to flee in stolen car, wrecks vehicle in getaway attempt

A man is in police custody after crashing his car in a residential area, leading police on an early morning chase says Toledo Police Department dispatch. 

The chase began at 4:40 a.m. at a Stop & Go at 740 South Ave. when the suspect was reported to be have been driving a stolen vehicle. The suspect fled down Langdon St. a few blocks away with police giving chase. The escape attempt came to a halt when the suspect wrecked his vehicle into a pole outside of 518 Langdon St.

After attempting to flee on foot, police apprehended the suspect, who was unharmed from the crash.
