21 federal firearms violation cases filed in Toledo in 2013

More than 200 indictments were brought last year against individuals in northern Ohio suspected of federal firearms violations, Steven Dettelbach, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, said Thursday.

Twenty-one of the 207 cases were filed in U.S. District Court in Toledo. Twenty-three were filed in Akron, 60 in Youngstown, and 103 in Cleveland.

The 172 defendants who were sentenced last year on firearms violations received an average of nearly six years in prison.
