'Last alarm' service for fallen Toledo firefighters to be Thursday

A “last alarm” memorial service for fallen Toledo firefighters Stephen Machcinski and James Dickman is slated for Thursday evening at the SeaGate Centre.

The two firefighters died Sunday from injuries sustained while battling a North Toledo apartment complex fire.

The service is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the SeaGate Convention Centre, 401 Jefferson Ave. in downtown Toledo.

Private Machcinski’s family will welcome friends from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave., according to an obituary from the funeral home. There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Private Machcinski's family asked for tributes to be made to a memorial fund established for the Dickman family. Donations may be made at any PNC Bank branch.

Funeral arrangements for Private Dickman have not been released.
