Illinois Avenue in Maumee reopens after gas leak closed it for about 3 hours

A high-pressure natural gas line leak that closed Illinois Avenue between Ford Street and Briarfield Boulevard in Maumee has been repaired and the road reopened, authorities said.

There were no reported injuries.

The incident occurred about 1:50 p.m Thursday at Charlie's Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, 725 Illinois Ave., Maumee police said.

Illinois remained closed for more than three hours, a police dispatcher said. The cause of the leak was unavailable.

The business remained open, according to the person who answered the phone.
