A 16-year-old girl who sent Facebook messages to her sister claiming she'd been kidnapped was charged with making false reports.

The teen was reported as a missing person to Toledo police on Tuesday. The teen sent her sister Facebook messages claiming that, on Saturday, she was abducted by strangers and was being held against her will under threats of rape and murder, according to a police report.

Police went to an apartment where they believed the girl was and spoke to the tenant. The occupant told police the girl had been there on Monday, but she was not held against her will.

Police found the teen at her aunt's house; the teen reportedly told her sister she sent the messages "because she had nothing else to make up."
