A Fostoria police officer's department-issued gun was stolen from his personal vehicle Wednesday in South Toledo.

The officer, who was not named in a Toledo police incident report, reported that his vehicle was broken into while parked in the driveway at his Oxbridge Drive home. Missing were two handguns — including the police gun — plus his badge and identification card, according to the report.

Officers’ evidence gathering at the scene was thwarted by “torrential rain,” the report stated.

A Fostoria police employee said comments would have to come from Capt. Patrick Brooks, who was not available for comment Friday.
