A Sylvania Township man who remains unidentified was arrested today in connection with a Michigan credit union holdup.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said a lone gunman robbed the Education Plus Credit Union at 3558 Sterns Rd., at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Deputies disseminated photos of the robber and his vehicle, resulting in tips identifying a 27-year-old man, who was arrested about 9:45 a.m. today by officers from the Sylvania Township and Toledo police departments, and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office on an unrelated burglary warrant.

Police found he was in possession of a large sum of money that was identified as stolen from the credit union, as well as additional evidence linking the man to the robbery, deputies said. He is being held in the Lucas County jail. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office will seek charges of armed robbery against the man, deputies said.
