343 impaired-driving crashes in Lucas in 2013

There were 343 reported impaired-driving crashes in Lucas County last year, officials said.

The Highway Patrol released impaired-driving statistics on Monday, showing that there were 11,226 such crashes in the state last year. In those, 330 people were killed, and 6,843 were injured, officials said. Troopers reported that impaired-driving crashes accounted for 33 percent of all fatal crashes in Ohio, down from an average of 43 percent from 2010 through 2012.

Impaired-driving crashes in neighboring counties included 104 in Wood County, 53 in Fulton County, and 52 in Ottawa County, according to the patrol.
