Marquis A. Walker, a suspect in the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend last October, was arrested in Jonesboro, Ark., tonight, authorities said.

Mr. Walker, who is being held in the Craighead County jail, allegedly shot and killed 23-year-old Jordan Jones-Harris at the Tamaron apartments on Alexis Road near Jackman Road around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 13. The victim was shot multiple times at the West Toledo apartment.

Toledo police have charged Mr. Walker with murder. Last October, the family of the victim was reaching out, such as with flyers, in efforts to help police track down Mr. Walker who was living in Toledo when the shooting took place.

Ms. Jones-Harris dated Mr. Walker for years, but ended the relationship several months before the shooting, a relative said shortly after the shooting.

Craighead County is located in the northeast corner of Arkansas and touches Missouri on its northernmost border. Craighead County covers 717 square miles with a population of 83,008.

Craighead County is one of the few in Arkansas that has dual county seats. It is divided into two districts by law, the Western District (Jonesboro) and the Eastern District (Lake City).
