FINDLAY — Police said they used a Taser gun to subdue a Findlay man who allegedly fled after they attempted to pull him over for a traffic violation.

The suspect, Robert Ferdinandsen, 54, had an asthma attack during the chase and was treated for that condition upon being apprehended, police said.

Police said they tried to pull Mr. Ferdinandsen over about 4:30 p.m. Thursday while he was driving a pickup near Frazer and Bolton streets. Mr. Ferdinandsen led police on a chase down several streets and yards, police said. The truck stopped in a yard at 712 College St. when it got stuck between a telephone pole and a tree, police said.

Mr. Ferdinandsen then attempted to flee on foot, prompting an officer to deploy his Taser, police said.

Mr. Ferdinandsen remained in custody Thursday night, charged with failure to comply with an order of a police officer. He was booked into the Hancock County jail pending his arraignment, deputies said.
