Pedestrian, a 63-year-old Toledo man, struck outside One Government Center downtown

Toledo Police have identified the pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle today outside One Government Center at Erie and Jackson streets in downtown Toledo.

At 2:03 p.m., Edmund Feeny, 63, of Toledo crossed North Erie Street from the east side of the roadway just north of Jackson Street when he was struck by a Chrysler Voyager minivan driven by 20-year-old Antony Brimmer of Toledo. Mr. Brimmer had been driving north on North Erie Street under a green light.

Mr. Feeny was transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo with non-life threatening injuries. A spokeswoman at the hospital said he is in the emergency room and has been stabilized.

The Voyager suffered minor damage.

A police spokesman said Mr. Brimmer was not injured and was not cited, but Mr. Feeny could receive a citation

Erie Street was blocked at Jackson Street for a time while the scene was cleared.
