Three times this year, a Toledo man called 911 and reported he'd been stabbed by two men trying to rob him. Three times, the man lied, police allege.

William Fox, 50, of 1013 Prouty Ave., is charged with inducing panic and on Friday was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court and ordered to remain in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

Mr. Fox called police on Jan. 17, Feb. 1, and April 12 and said he was stabbed with an ice pick during robberies in the 1000 block of Prouty. In each of the incidents, the victim’s wound was in the same spot, police said. Officers wrote in a complaint that they believe the injuries were self-inflicted.

Mr. Fox pleaded not guilty to the charge Friday. He remained in jail Monday.
