Toledo police have a juvenile in custody today after he had barricaded himself in a South Toledo home.

Police responded to the home in the 800 block of Sibley Street at about 2:45 p.m. after someone reported a juvenile might be inside and could be armed.

Authorities threw tear gas into the residence in the 800 block of Sibley Street shortly after 4 p.m.; the teen called 911 from a landline within the home and said he would come out the back door. He was taken into custody without incident.

The Toledo SWAT team was searching the home as a precaution.

Authorities said they are investigating whether the juvenile allegedly pistol whipped another teen near McTigue Elementary School.
