$100,000 bond set for teen who took gun into Start High School

A Start High School student who took a gun into the West Toledo school on Monday was today ordered to remain in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Willie Carter III, 18, of 1928 Brame Place, was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court on charges of weapons under disability, trafficking in drugs, carrying a concealed weapon, illegal conveyance of firearm, and resisting arrest.

Police said the teen was arrested in Start's cafeteria about 11 a.m. by a Toledo Public Schools officer. Police found a 45-caliber handgun and seven bags of marijuana on the student.

The school was locked down for several hours on Monday so officers could search the school for a possible second suspect.
