PORT CLINTON -- A body found today on a Carroll Township beach in Ottawa County is believed to be one of two men missing from a boating accident last month, though officials are waiting for coroner results to release a positive identification.

Sheriff Stephen Levorchick said a man’s body was spotted today washed up on a beach by Division Street near the Green Cove condominium complex.

Someone who lives in the area looked out and saw the body, Sheriff Levorchick said. The body will be taken to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for identification.

The body appears to be one of two men who have not been found since a boat with four people on board was found submerged in Lake Erie off Locust Point on April 17.

The bodies of Amy Santus, 33, of Perrysburg Township and Paige Widmer, 16, of Pelion, S.C. were recovered.

Missing are Bryan Huff, 32, of Rossford and Andrew Rose, 33, of Maumee.

Sheriff Levorchick said authorities would wait for coroner results before making a positive identification.
