FINDLAY — A 17-year-old Findlay boy was killed Wednesday night when the sport utility vehicle he was driving struck a deer, went off the road, and rolled into a field about a quarter mile southwest of Findlay.

Nathan McKee was in Liberty Township, driving south on Township Road 67 near Township Road 80 just before 9 p.m., according to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office.

He and his passenger, Leon Lopez, 17, of Findlay were both wearing seat belts, the sheriff's office reported. But young McKee was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Young Lopez was taken by emergency squad to Blanchard Valley Hospital with unknown injuries.
