PIONEER, Ohio — A three-vehicle crash that killed a West Unity, Ohio, man and seriously injured a Cygnet, Ohio, woman on State Rt. 15 remained under investigation Monday, authorities said.

Craig Parliament, 66, who was driving a motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the Sunday crash, in Williams County’s Madison Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said. He did not wear a helmet, according to the patrol’s Van Wert post.

Connie Shope, 35, his passenger, was taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind., the patrol said. She was listed in critical condition. She did not wear a helmet, according to officials.

Mr. Parliament was stopped on southbound Route 15 at U.S. 20 about 6:20 p.m. when struck in the rear by a pickup driven by Delbert Drinnon, Jr., 27, of Mark Center, Ohio, according to a statement released by the patrol.

The impact pushed the motorcycle into a sport utility vehicle driven by Yadira Garcia, 16, of Adrian, who was turning from eastbound U.S. 20 onto northbound Route 15, the patrol said.
