Two women are in critical condition after a crash in East Toledo late Saturday night and the driver of the vehicle in which they were passengers is in jail.

Lisa Paul, 38, of 5320 Hill Ave. and Maxine Brumley, 30, of 1601 Navarre Ave., are in Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center’s intensive care unit.

Brian Hackett-Foster, 31, is charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular assault and was booked into the Lucas County jail after being treated at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. Police listed his address as 3175 Cherry St. but the jail has his address as 713 Holland Sylvania Road.

He was driving east on Main Street, approaching Sixth Street about 10:05 p.m. when the vehicle struck a curb that protected street parking, police reported. As the vehicle struck the curb, it continued east and went through the intersection and struck a utility pole on the southeast corner of Main and Sixth, police reported.
