Toledo police officers interview Aaron Gaines after he was hit in the ankle during a shooting at Detroit and Delaware avenues.

Two people were shot today in the doorway of Detroit Stop, a carryout at the corner of Delaware and Detroit avenues.

Aaron Gaines, 53, received a possible ankle wound from a bullet ricochet; Tild Reed, 23, was shot in a thigh and taken to ProMedica Toledo Hospital in a private vehicle.

One shell casing was found at the scene, police said.

Ice Sheed, 70, who said he witnessed the shooting, said Mr. Reed told the shooter he wanted to have a fist fight, but the shooter then pulled out a gun and fired. It was not known why the two might spar.
