Within a half hour, two Toledo businesses were robbed in South Toledo, reportedly by a man with similar descriptions.

Fifth Third Bank, 3428 Glendale Ave., was robbed at about 4:45 p.m. At about 5:08 p.m., Rite Aid, 2430 Glendale, was robbed, police said.

Officers were dispatched for multiple hold-up alarms at the bank after a man went in and passed a note to the teller, according to initial police reports. It was not clear whether  the suspect got any cash or if he had a weapon.

The suspect fled on foot toward South Byrne Road. He was described as white with brown hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a blue hat, long-sleeve blue T-shirt and jeans.

The man who attempted to rob Rite Aid apparently went into the store, told the employees to give him cash, and the employees told him to leave, police said. The man then fled. A weapon was not seen, but the suspect reached under his shirt as if he might have a weapon.

Police ask that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
