The Lucas County Sheriff’‍s Office is looking for the person who ran a red minivan into an apartment complex in Holland today and then left the scene about 4 a.m.

Sgt. Richard Grove said the minvan was found abandoned a few blocks away from the Oak Place Court Apartment Complex in Spencer Township.

He said there were no signs that the driver was hurt in the crash but there is visible damage to the front of the apartment complex near the entrance.

Sergeant Grove said officials from the Lucas County Metropolitan Housing Authority were on the scene this afternoon making repairs to the outside of the structure.

Red Cross officials said they gave some food assistance to one family that was displaced from their apartment because of the crash. The family did not return to their apartment and opted to go elsewhere until repairs were made to the residence, said spokesperson Jessica Zercher.

She said six other families were initially ordered to evacuate their apartments but they eventually went back into their homes and did not need assistance.
