State troopers stopped 281 cars at McCord Road near Dorr Street Saturday night but said they did not make a single drunken driving arrest.

The checkpoint was held to deter motorists from driving while intoxicated and also to inform the public about the dangers of drinking and driving. In addition to periodic checkpoints, troopers have been conducting saturation patrols to try to combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.
