Two people were injured when two cars collided in South Toledo early today, with one of the cars crashing into a building, authorities said.

The victims, who were car occupants, were treated at the scene for minor injuries, according to Toledo police. The victims’ names were not released.

The cars collided on ice-slickened roads at Heatherdowns Bowlevard and Cheyenne Boulevard about 7:20 a.m., a police dispatcher said.  One of the cars then hit a utility pole and crashed into a wall of the Toledo Auto Care, 5329 Heatherdowns Blvd, she said.

Mike Waltz, the auto shop manger, said no one in the shop was injured. Damage to the wall was “cosmetic,” he said, adding that the shop remains open for business.

The crash remains under investigation.

Additionally, area law enforcement agents reported multiple slide-off crashes on icy roads in the greater Toledo area early today, with no reports of serious injuries.
