I-75 northbound near State Rt. 582 reopen after 10-vehicle pileup is cleared

DUNBRIDGE, Ohio — I-75 northbound has reopened after at least 10 vehicles, including several tractor-trailer rigs, were involved in a crash north of State Rt. 582.

Multiple injuries have been reported this afternoon, at least one of which is serious. Emergency crews transported victims to a variety of hospitals, including Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, University of Toledo Medical Center, and St. Luke’s Hospital.

A dispatcher at the Ohio Highway Patrol in Bowling Green said she was unsure how many vehicles were involved in the crash or how many people were hospitalized.

She said the road is still closed and officials are trying to clear the vehicles from the highway so it can reopen, but she's not sure how long that could take.

One woman who was extricated from her vehicle had injuries sustained after car rammed into the rear of a tractor-trailer rig, initial reports indicated. Her car, part of which was lodged beneath the semi, was then struck from behind.

Troopers spent about 25 minutes removing her from the vehicle.

Another man was transported for treatment after he was spotted wandering around the scene. Rescue crews said his car had been rear-ended by a tractor-trailer rig.

Wood County is under a Level One snow emergency, which means motorists should use caution while driving on snow and ice.
