HASKINS — A Haskins OVI check point did not yield any OVI arrests, but one minor misdemeanor citation for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was issued over the weekend.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol with the Haskins Police Department and Wood County Sheriff’s Office conducted an OVI checkpoint from 10 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday on North Findlay Street in the Village of Haskins.

Contact was made with 237 vehicles at the checkpoint.

After the checkpoint, troopers saturated Wood County in an effort to educate motorists about the dangers of drinking and driving and to reduce the number of alcohol involved crashes in the area. From 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday, troopers made an additional 50 stops and arrested three more people for OVI.
