A prominent group that certifies law enforcement departments across the country is seeking public feedback on Toledo police.

Assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies will visit the department Dec. 4 for its voluntary re-accreditation program. They review policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services, Toledo police said.

Residents can offer their opinions on these topics 4 p.m. Dec. 4 at Toledo City Council chambers. Those who are unable to attend may call 419-245-1596 from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 5.

Written comments may be sent to the commission at 13575 Heathcote Blvd., Suite 320 in Gainesville, Va., 20155.

The Toledo Police Department has been accredited through the program since 2003.
