A South Toledo woman was run over when she attempted to intervene while her car was being stolen, according to Toledo police.

Michelle Thomas, of the 4300 block of Beverly Drive, left her car running at a residence in the 3100 block of Glencairn Avenue about 6:45 p.m. Monday, police said.

When Ms. Thomas walked outside, someone started to drive her car away. When she tried to open the driver’s door, the robber continued driving and ran her over, police said, causing a leg injury for which the Toledo Fire Department treated her at the scene.

Toledo police recovered the vehicle at a gas station at South Avenue and Spencer Street. As of Tuesday morning, there had been no arrests.
