Races for two commissioner s seats and county prosecutor headline the Republican ballot in Fulton County where five candidates spent a total of $25,000 by Feb. 11.

More than half of that was spent in the race between county commissioner Paul Barnaby and his challenger R.J. Lumbrezer.

Mr. Barnaby had spent $9,235 and had $1,065 on hand, according to reports filed with the county board of elections.

Mr. Lumbrezer had spent $5,166 and had $914 on hand.

Both are from eastern Fulton County.

Spending has been far lower in the race for the other commissioner s seat.

Incumbent Dean Genter spent $2,810 and had $140 on hand, according to his report.

His challenger, Darrel Garmenn had not filed a report, which is required only for candidates who have raised or spent more than $1,000.

In the prosecutor s race, Roger Nagel has outspent Jeff Robinson by a more than 2-to-1 margin.

Mr. Nagel spent $5,709 and had $2,606 on hand, according to his report.

Mr. Robinson spent $2,430 and had $1,694 on hand.

In the treasurer s race - the only other contested county race - Beverly Schlosser spent $3,237 and had $1,013 on hand and Brett Kolb spent $1,576 and had $179 on hand. The treasurer candidates were profiled in last week s Neighbors edition.
