Registration ends today to vote in Aug. 3 election

7/6/2004

Today is the last day to register to vote in the upcoming Aug. 3 special election.

More than two dozen school levies will be on the ballot in communities across northwest Ohio, including a renewal issue for $825,000 in the Swanton Local School District.

In the Toledo area, some voters in Lucas County will decide whether bonds will be issued by the Anthony Wayne Area Joint Recreation District for the purpose of improving recreational facilities.

Voters in the recreation district, which has the same boundaries as the Anthony Wayne schools, will also vote on a proposed 0.45-mill levy.

In order to register to vote, one must be a U.S. citizen, age 18 or older, and a resident of Ohio or Michigan for the 30 days immediately preceding the election.
