President to appear at Fort Meigs late Saturday afternoon

8/26/2004

President Bush's Toledo-area campaign appearance on Saturday will be at Fort Meigs in Perrysburg late in the afternoon, although the exact time is uncertain, sources at the Wood County Republican Party said yesterday.

Tim Brown, a Republican Wood County commissioner, said he was notified of the event's location and that tickets were available at the GOP's office in Bowling Green. Jim Carter is the other Republican Wood County commissioner.

Staff at the office said the rally is expected to start between 4 and 5 p.m., depending on the progress of the President's earlier appearances south of Toledo during a western Ohio campaign swing that starts Saturday morning in Dayton and includes a stop in Lima.

John Miller, the county Republican chairman, could not be reached for further comment yesterday.

Additional details about the Fort Meigs event are expected to be released during the next two days.
