Gov. Granholm joins Kehrl on Monroe campaign trail

9/17/2004

MONROE - Gov. Jennifer Granholm yesterday joined Herb Kehrl, Democratic candidate for the 56th District state House seat, at a local senior center, where they touted affordable health care and prescription drug programs.

Mr. Kehrl, speaking at the Frenchtown Senior Citizens Center, said he wants to help enact legislation that will keep seniors from having to spend a significant amount of their pension on health-care costs.

Mr. Kehrl and John Manor, a Monroe Republican, are vying for the seat now held by Randy Richardville (R., Monroe), who is prevented by term limits from running again.

In 2000, Mr. Kehrl narrowly lost to Mr. Richardville.
