Democrat abandons race for Bowling Green council

BOWLING GREEN - One of two Democratic candidates for an at-large seat on Bowling Green City Council has withdrawn from the race.

John K. "Jack" Hartman said he thought the city's interests would be served by the candidates remaining in the race. "There are several good candidates that have come forth, and I don't feel the need to continue in the race."

Lester Barber, a Democrat, and Republicans William Culbertson, an incumbent, and Robert McOmber are running for the two at-large seats in November.
