Schockman to run for Michigan Senate

TEMPERANCE Bedford Township Clerk Bob Schockman

has announced that he intends to run for the seat being vacated

next year by state Sen. Bev Hammerstrom (R., Temperance).

Mr. Schockman, 55, a Democrat, announced his candidacy

Thursday from his Temperance home. The 17th Senate district

includes Monroe and Lenawee counties. Ms. Hammerstrom,

majority leader in the Michigan Senate, is term-limited.
