Hymore-Tester elected mayor of Port Clinton

In Ottawa County, Republican Debra L. Hymore-Tester was elected mayor of Port Clinton. She defeated Jeffrey Thomas Morgan 1211-888.

A county-wide, three-year renewal levy to maintain senior citizens' services passed 9,540-2,292. The services include, but are not limited to home-delivered and congregate meals, respite care and day care for Alzheimer's patients.

A five-year, 1.3-mills replacement tax levy in Genoa narrowly passed, providing funds for operating, maintaining, and improving Veterans Memorial Park. The levy passed 384-297.

Separate tax levies in Put-in-Bay failed. A five-year, 0.4-mill levy for parks and recreational purposes and a five-year, 2-mills levy for improvements to the village town hall, both fell by less than 100 votes.
