Mike Beazley spends his days as the Lucas County Administrator, but one of his true passions is predicting voting outcomes on election night.

And in a few hours we'll find out how good he is.

Mr. Beazley, a local election guru, said around 9:30 p.m. that former Toledo Mayor Jack Ford and Lisa Sobecki would win seats on the Toledo Board of Education. He also said Judge Michael Goulding would probably hang onto his seat on the Toledo Municipal Court bench, and it's too early to tell on the COSI levy.

A prognosticating legend, Mr. Beazley actually said he's shying away from his normal routine of monitoring just about every vote there is on election night. But he's still hosting his usual party for Lucas County staff members, elected officials, family, and friends at Michael's on Monroe Street.

One race Mr. Beazley didn't have to predict was for Toledo City Council's District 4 seat, in which incumbent Michael Ashford held 71.58 percent of the vote against Ronnell Traynum with 86 percent of the precincts reporting.
