Howe named Lucas County elections director

A probation officer in Maumee Municipal Court was named Thursday morning as the new director of the Lucas County Board of Elections.

Linda Howe, 66, has been a probation officer in Maumee since 1995 and is a former director of elections for Henry County. Until recently, she has been a member of that county s board of elections and chairman of the Democratic Party in Henry County.

Ms. Howe currently lives in Napoleon but plans to move soon to Lucas County. She will start her new position on Monday.

Ms. Howe will be paid $85,594 a year. She replaces Daniel Pilrose, Jr., who resigned as director on June 30, citing medical reasons.

The vote was unanimous.

A decision was postponed Thursday morning on naming an interim director to replace Jill Kelly, who recently went on medical leave.
