Findlay newspaper endorses McCain

FINDLAY, Ohio The Courier newspaper in Findlay is endorsing John McCain for president.

The newspaper said Thursday that the Republican senator from Arizona recognizes the enormity of the current economic crisis by saying he wants creditworthy homeowners to be able to keep their homes.

The Courier says that McCain s military experience may be his greatest asset because he understands the principles that the nation was built on.

The newspaper said Democrat Barack Obama is too liberal on abortion, gay rights and gun laws.

The two candidates are in a tight race in Ohio. Recent polls have shown Obama with a slight lead or have said it s too close to call.
