WASHINGTON President Barack Obama looked around at one point during his first full day at the White House and had to ask where to go next.

Says White House press secretary Robert Gibbs: "It's a pretty big house."

But Gibbs add that Obama looked plenty comfortable in his new surroundings on Wednesday.

Gibbs described the first family's new life on Thursday during his first news briefing as press secretary.

Gibbs said Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and their two daughters were settling in fine at the White House. He said the president was able to go upstairs to the White House residence between events on Wednesday and have dinner with his family, and that being able to have those moments means a lot to the new president.
