Longtime Toledo councilman and political insider Frank Szollosi will not seek re-election in November to a third term on Toledo City Council.
Mr. Szollosi, a Democrat, was appointed in January, 2003 to take the place of Peter Ujvagi, who resigned to take a seat in the Ohio General Assembly. He was then elected to council that November and again in 2005. His term runs out Jan. 4, 2010.
Mr. Szollosi, a communications consultant, comes from a well-known political family. His grandfather served as a Lucas County commissioner, and his father and mother have served on Oregon s council. His brother, Matt, is now a state representative.
Mr. Szollosi has run several high-profile campaigns in the past including former Mayor Carty Finkbeiner s 1997 successful re-election campaign.
