Vote recounts uphold results in Seneca County

TIFFIN — The results of two municipal primary races that were close on election night were unchanged after the Seneca County Board of Elections counted provisional ballots Monday.

Elections Director Janet Leahy said Tiffin Mayor James Boroff was defeated in the Republican primary by Councilman Aaron Montz by a vote of 880-846, while Democratic mayoral hopeful Kenneth Gaietto defeated Mark D. Hayes. The final vote in that race was 491-485. Ms. Leahy said neither race was close enough for an automatic recount.
