Gerken re-elected as president of commissioners

Lucas County Commissioner Pete Gerken will continue to serve as President of the Board of Lucas County Commissioners in 2012.

The commissioners unanimously re-elected him to the post in their 2012 organizational meeting Monday morning. Mr. Gerken said this will be his fourth year serving in the position.

“I appreciate the support of my colleagues and peers,” he said, adding that he hopes 2012 will be a better year for the county in terms of budget and other issues.

Commissioner Tina Skeldon Wozniak, who nominated Mr. Gerken, said, “Our year went well. Our term has gone well. We’d like you to continue your leadership.”
