Haddad files petitions to run for county commissioner

Sylvania Township Trustee Kevin Haddad has filed nominating petitions to run for the Lucas County Board of Commissioners.

Mr. Haddad, who seeks to appear on the November ballot as an independent, submitted 1,781 signatures to the county Board of Elections. To qualify, he needs to have verified 1,448 signatures of registered county voters. He is vying for the seat held by Democrat Tina Skeldon Wozniak, whose four-year term expires Jan. 3.

Elections officials said the verification process takes about 10 business days.
