In two northwest Ohio cities that had sought income tax increases to help balance their budgets, voters said no.

Voters in both Findlay and Tiffin defeated requests for 0.25 percent income tax increases.

City officials had said the tax revenue was needed to help offset a loss in local government funds from the state, the elimination of the estate tax, and the continued loss in revenue because of the economic downturn.
