Democrats seek names for Port Clinton post

Members of the Port Clinton Democratic Party Central Committee are to meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 6 to appoint a city council member.

Discussion followed by a decision will be held in the activities room of the Riverview Care Center on St. Rte. 163 between Port Clinton and Oak Harbor.

Council member Cole Hatfield resigned to take an appointment as Port Clinton city auditor. He ran for the at-large position in November, 2011.

The committee is still taking information from anyone interested in filling the post. Port Clinton residents can apply by emailing a one-page resume and a one-page cover letter to Dan Laity, chairman of the Ottawa County Democratic Party, at amydanlaity@frontier.com no later than Jan. 2.
