A spokesman says John Kasich has arrived in Switzerland for his planned appearance at the World Economic Forum.

Republican Governor Kasich arrived Tuesday for the gathering of political, corporate and thought leaders in Davos. He is scheduled to participate in sessions Thursday and Friday.

The first is an interactive discussion Thursday about the future of advanced manufacturing, including reducing a shortage of skilled workers and addressing increased competition for raw materials.

At the second session Friday, titled “Meeting Great Expectations,” Kasich is expected to discuss how expectations for the United States are changing in the 21st century.

Spokesman Rob Nichols said the governor also plans to use the trip to market Ohio to gathered business and industry leaders. Key areas include advanced manufacturing, transportation, polymers, and oil and gas.
