BOWLING GREEN — The Wood County Health Department has suspended its director of administration while it investigates two separate complaints about his conduct on the job.

Bill Ault was placed on paid administrative leave Aug. 29 after an account clerk claimed Mr. Ault had harassed her and created a hostile work environment. A second employee filed a complaint Friday alleging Mr. Ault had made inappropriate comments to her that she felt constituted sexual harassment.

Pat Snyder, public information officer, said the board of health met in executive session for 90 minutes Tuesday but did not take action when it emerged. Mr. Ault was not in attendance. He was hired by the health department in 2007 and is paid $64,116 a year.

The health board has its regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. today.
